a story to tell,

I love to tell a story, yes I do and I have a happy, warm your heart, make you smile kind of story to tell.
It starts with a bright as a button 8 year old feeling safe and happy who learns that there are not so nice tricksters in the world and ends with the knowledge that  there are really good people in this world and good always beats out bad.
Gracie is autistic and was taken advantage of by some mean spirited boys this summer , they stole from her a collection of toys that meant the world to her.
It was easy to do, she’s very trusting and had never experienced evil in this way.
It upset her and because she struggles showing her emotions she held her upset inside, becoming quiet and withdrawn.
A dear friend put in action a plan to replace the toys stolen and bring back Gracie's trust and her smile.
Joyce from the blog October farm has become a good friend and has sent Gracie's packages many times but yesterday was unbelievable.
When Joyce learn ed what had happened to Gracie she set about finding replacements, the shop she found , when hearing the story said they would like to send the toys to Gracie free of charge, and then  when telling another shop owner of this tale, more toys were added.
The huge box was filled with extra gifts for not only Gracie but us all and the smile that came to Gracie's face was unforgettable.
This was such an amazing gift not only in material objects but in replacing faith in humanity,  people we have never met in person giving of their time and money to a little girl they will never meet, there are still good people in this world and we will never forget their kindness and generosity, it was all made happen by Joyce,  she has always just clicked with Gracie, she understands her so well, of course Gracie loves her and speaks of her all the time,  they share a lot in common these two!
The toys that were stolen were vintage toys, not available in stores but Joyce found the ones stolen and far far more,  as well as dinosaurs,  tee shirts, candies, the most beautiful princess gown for Gracie's sister, and so much more.
How we will ever thank her I just do not know but a huge thanks to all involved but especially to Joyce,
Everyone knows
Joyce loves all things witch related and
Gracie tells everyone Joyce has magic powers,
She truly does work magic,

It would appear that Joyce's biggest witch power of all is love. Truly a wonderful story.

That's a wonderful, happy ending. I hope those boys were disciplined. I probably would have marched over to their houses and demanded they give her back the toys. It sounds like Gracie and Joyce have a deep emotional connection.

I had some "friends" down the street who stole Pokemon cards from me when I was in middle school. Sometimes the crime isn't what hurts most, it's the breach of trust.

A beautiful story, indeed! And it's beautiful people like your Joyce that brings so much joy to this sometimes sorrowful world. May we all be more like your Gracie - trusting and kind. And more like your Joyce - restoring and redeeming as she lives her life.

what a beautiful but touching story dear Laurie!

reminded me the theft of my eldest son's toys many years ago and worst about this is that almost after year i found those toys in the home of someone whom i believed like a family

Hugs!

So glad that Gracie knows that there are wonderful people around, like Joyce and the others who helped her smile again. The theft was despicable, but the aftermath was heartwarming and big judos to Joyce and all those who helped Gracie smile again. And thanks to you for sharing this story with all of us!

what a lovely story. It's so refreshing to hear good things. What a beautiful soul. How's the weather up your way? Snows not far off, it's creeping closer isn't it, I am not sure how I feel about that seeing as this summer has been so horribly humid.
